William Sindry b/19/11/1810 at Weston under Penyard m.18/10/1838 at W.u.P. to Lucy Shotton b.30.04/1819 of Winchcombe.
I have successfully found information for this family, thanks mainly to the Parish Registers.
IGI states that there were twin girls Mary Ann and Emma born 23/02/1845 at Linton by Ross. I can't locate any records for these two apart from information in the census documents.

George was a journeyman blacksmith and went to Gloucester. I have been unable to find any trace of Mary Ann and Emma.
I would have liked to have accurate births for them, it doesn't look like they can be twins.
Please is there anyone out there who might be able to help. It would be nice to know what happened to them.

Slowhands,thank you,you sure work fast.
Maria and Sarah are the only Sindrys of those names around at that time. So it was not difficult to track them.
Sarah Sindry b.17 Mar 1816 at Kilcote was the youngest daughter of Thomas Sindry b.10 Jan 1770 of Aston Ingham m. 29 Dec 1801 to Anne Butt c.1772 of English Bicknor. They appear to have lived at Gorsley Common.
Maria b.02 Jan 1844 at Kilcote to Sarah. It looks as if Sarah m.05 Mar 1848 to James Gutfield of Gorsley. His name appears as Gatfield elsewhere, there don't appear to be any other Gutfields.

So Mary Ann and Emma are twins, perhaps Mary Ann was bigger than Emma and the enumerator drew his own conclussions.

Emma Sengery - that's at least the 26th spelling of Sindrey with an "S." That's not counting all those beginning with "C." The comment in this house was that it might sound like Sengery after a few drinks!
So I always say to people new to this game,"Just don't have fixed ideas about the spelling!"

This Emma is the daughter of my gt.gt.grandparents William and Lucy Sindry.
The "Emma" marriage you have found is Henry and Mary Ann's daughter, they were my gt.gt.uncle and aunt, as Henry was the brother of William.
Three of Henry and Mary Ann's children were baptised together on 19 Oct 1845, EMMA, Elizabeth and Ellen Mary Ann.
EMMA, 21yrs was married to George Lane, 22yrs at Cinderford Registry Office on 25 Dec 1861, Henry is stated as Emma's father.
I think this marriage proves the Emma from Linton to be the younger one.

I have a copy of the Linton people CD which contains a complete transcript of the Linton parish registers. I searched it for Sindry baptisms and found the following: Emma bapt 23 Feb 1845, Mary Anne bapt 23 Feb 1845, William bapt 21 March 1847 & Julia bapt 15 June 1852 all children of William a blacksmith & Lucy.
