Emma VAUGHAN - maiden name (General)

I also have a connection to this family.
According to the birth certificate of their daughter Mary Jane Vaughan born 8th April 1861 Emma's maiden name was Williams. However, I have been unable to find a marriage of Andrew Vaughan and Emma Williams which probably would have been around 1854.
Neither have I been able to find a Emma Williams baptised in Alvington c1836 or a suitable Williams family on the 1841 or 1851 census.
