After a few years of geenalogical research into my Forest of Dean ancestors
I am beginning to write up my research into narrative accounts of the
various families I descend from. I have now completed the first version of
a brief essay charting the history of the Herbert family of Ruardean.

Hi James

Thanks for your most illuminating and useful document. It added much to my information, but probably more useful is that it didn't change anything I already had. Always nice to get confirmation of your own version of events.

I look forward to the next narrative account !!

Can I be cheeky and ask a question. Something that has been troubling me for some time; Sarah Herbert (one of my 5 times great aunts)baptised 11.9.1748 married Richard Baldwin 15.10.1770 - my question is - do you know who were the parents of Richard Baldwin ?

As one of the "Yorkshire" Herberts may I say how pleased I was to read James Phillips Evans essay on the Herberts. It has taken us back another generation and made fascinating reading. Keep up the good work James. Jean Herbert
