Richard ROSE - Blakeney/Awre (General)

by cerrisgoodwin, Saturday, January 19, 2008, 10:50 (6156 days ago)

Good evening,

I have been unable to find with online searches whether there are any marriage registers available for Blakeney/Awre that incorporate the period 1766 +. I've also searched through GRO online database. Can anyone tell me if they are available anywhere please?

My ancestor Richard ROSE was baptised in Chapel Hill, Monmouth 1745 and in 1770 has arrived in Bristol with his wife Susannah, baptising a daughter. Two of his sisters married in Chapel Hill but moved to Blakeney/Awre and I'm wondering if Richard also moved there with them and married there before moving to Bristol. He didn't marry in Monmouth or Bristol. Blakeney/Awre is the only other logical place I can think of (and yes, I know family history isn't always logical!!!)

Any pointers/ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Sharon

Hi Sharon

The Awre marriages for 1754-1801 are currently being transcribed for this site.
I am waiting patiently to find out when my ggg grandpapa was married in Awre!
I'm also hoping it will help me to find out where he was from, as I can't find a baptism for him.

Happy Hunting
