Hi
Thank you for that information. i saw it on a previous posting and was hoping for news of her in the 1851 census. Ihave a copy of the Glos.51 but couldn`t find her. I`m beginning to think that the Amelia who married Thomas BALDWIN wasn`t mine . I saw that my 2xgreat grandmother(Margaret JONES) had 3 children(triplets?) baptised in 1845 at Drybrook but have no later mention of these 3.Their names were Amelia, John James and Hester.
best wishes Sylvia

They might be triplets - or simply a "mass" baptism , was father John ill ? were they ill ?
If there is no further mention of them perhaps they are lodging with a friend/family by 1851, or if old enough in service. They may be transcribed/recorded under the family surname .
many possibilities.
and then an Amelia "turns up" in Wales to marry, and she was born 1845 Lydbrook !!!

Hi
That`s brilliant!
I dont know about the HARRIS connection but WILLIAMS was their mother Margaret`s maiden name. She is working for a Thomas(?)(a sawyaer) MILLWATER as an outside servant(whatever that is). I know that because of info.you sent me previously. I am unsure of the father`s whereabouts and James ,the eldest is in Newent workhouse
Thanks again and best wishes

My brick walls are tumbling! I feel sure the Camomile Green family in 1841 will prove to be that of the John Jones we are interested in - their immediate neighbour was Richard Harris a colaminer aged 40. Looks like he cared for John Jones young family in 1851. Who knows whether there was a family relationship too.
