Thomas or William HERBERT (General)

Thank you both for your replies. Our branch of the Herberts - in Yorkshire - stems from the marriage of Elizabeth Phelps and Thomas Herbert. They are well documented from that point onwards. My problem is that I found a marriage on Ancestry.com for Thomas Herbert and Elizabeth Phelps but on FOD site the marriage is for William Herbert not Thomas. Both the census returns and FOD marriage shows that Elizabeth was a Phelps and her father was John. So, still not certain which record is correct.
