Isabelle BOWERY c. 1872 Newent (General)

I'm hoping someone can help me find any information on my G.G. Grandmother. She married Edwin Charles Merrett in 1893 in Gloucester and on the marriage certificate her name is Isabelle Bowery age 20, father William Bowery deceased Thatcher. According to the census she was born in Newent around 1872. The witnesses at the wedding were William Manns and Emily Matilda Manns. Records on this website show that a William Manns married Emily Matilda Bowery (father John) in 1873 but, of course, these may not be the same ones.

I asked a question here several months ago and slowhands was kind enough to give me some information regarding a Spanish connection as it is believed that Isabelle's mother is possibly Spanish. A Spanish woman by the name of Anna Ramos married a Thomas Henry Bowery in 1876 in Gibraltar then came to settle in the Forest the same year. I can't find a connection but feel there must be as an Edwin Merrett was witness at the marriage of Louisa Bowery (father Thomas Henry Bowery) to William Berry in 1897 and Annie Bowery was the second witness. Also, one of the children of Edwin and Isabelle was sent to the Forest to visit a Spanish woman and she was told to call her Aunt.

There are confliciting stories regarding Isabelle's mother, one being that Isabelle was already born when her mother married William Bowery and Isabelle took his name. Another story is that her mother married three times. Without a birth certificate for Isabelle I can't get anywhere and I can't think of any way of finding out about William Bowery and the fact that he was a thatcher. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
