Looks like Christina popped her clogs but I can't find a burial for her.
William was deceased by this time but it doesn't say that on this record.

Christina?

by ChrisW @, Sunday, February 17, 2008, 13:29 (6130 days ago) @ ChrisW

I came across a Christiana Mann on this site. She was born in 1808 and baptised 1812 at Awre. Her parents were John Mann and Grace (nee Munday). Henry might have married a cousin - or this could be a complete red herring!

Christina?

by dwmann, Sunday, February 17, 2008, 13:39 (6130 days ago) @ ChrisW

Not a red herring but haven't established whether or not they were related. They were my 3rd great grandparents. Very interested to find out about Christian or Christianna's mother Grace Munday if anyone can help.

Second Marriage for Henry 1865? {Amy CLARK marriage}

by Veal @, Saturday, April 05, 2014, 23:46 (3891 days ago) @ mrsbruso

You have rekindled my interest in the CLARKE family from W-on_S after a break due to brick walls.
I see you have mentioned Amy CLARKE and her 2nd marriage to Henry MANN in Blakeney 1865. Her first husband was James CLARKE b.1810 - d.1857 W-o-S. They married 1837 in W-o-S and I believe they had seven children. James CLARKE was a butcher in W-o-S. His parents were William & Sarah CLARKE and they had nine children.
One of his sisters, Hannah, married carpenter(*) James SMITH in 1837(I believe I have the right lady using FOD records and a newspaper article(*)), but in 1861 & 1871 she is Hannah DICKSON with John DICKSON. On both census returns Hannah DICKSON was born in W-o-S and also in 1861 they have a visitor Maryann HILLIER, also born in W-o-S.

I cannot find her marriage to John DICKSON. First brick wall.

Using the FOD records at Gloucester Archives I found a Hannah and Maryann born in W-o-S in the early 1800's both with a CLARKE surname. Maryann married William HILLIER in 1829 (W-o-S) with witnesses being two of her siblings. But although she is soon a widow (& no known children)I have not found a death for William HILLIER. Second brick wall.
Witnesses at Hannah CLARKE marriage were Sarah CLARKE probably her mother and a carpenter friend of James(?). Hannah married at Gloucester St Michaels and both known to be of this parish.

I have also found on the FOD records that Hannah CLARKE had a baseborn child in 1819 (W-o-S) called Theodore Martin CLARKE. He was a Hatter when he married on 2nd Jan 1841 in Cheltenham and has his father as Dixon CLARK (occupation Hatter). I have checked the 1841/1851 census returns for a Dixon/Dickson CLARKE with no clear evidence to someone of that name and the right age in this part of the country.

I have a third brick wall.
On the 1861/1871 census returns for John & Hannah DICKSON they have another person with them, James DICKSON b.1858. (place of birth ambiguous and therefore no true ref to his birth). He is the direct lineage with my ancestors and I am not sure if this couple he is staying with are truly related to him. On his 1880 marriage certificate over in Portsmouth, his father is John DICKSON, occupation Labourer.
I have spent a lot of time on the CLARKE & DICKSON families and so any help will be gratefully received and I really do need some help!!
kind regards,
Patricia Veal
