BROWNING, John bap Westbury on Severn 1/11/1725 (General)

by slowhands @, proud of his ancient Dean Forest roots, Monday, February 18, 2008, 02:00 (6130 days ago) @ Godfrey

steady on Godfrey - I was still working on it !

There are a number of Browning families just over the Severn south of Gloucester - Frampton , Brookthorpe, Upton St Leaonards, Longney, Haresfield etc.

Ansell is perhaps the sort of christian name that you might expect to be passed down generations - any evidence ??? other forms Ancell, Ansel, Anselm has French or possibly German origins - so were the family Mariners ??
