Chepstow Mill - John HUNT (General)

Trying to trace details of my grandfathers mill in chepstow. His name was John Hunt and was married to Alice nee Head.The mill produced animal feed, not much to go on but i think we are talking around 1930's.

I guess you should be looking in the area known as the Riverside Mill, The Back Chepstow. The old Corn mill / Wharehouse has been converted into apartments - and further development in the area is planned.

Adjacent to the Boat Inn stands the modern Riverside Mill apartment block occupying a site which includes a large stone warehouse dating from around 1790. The façade is retained as a prominent feature. From the late 16th century various buildings in this area were used as customs houses until 1882 when Chepstow ceased to have its own customs officers.
