It may be of interests for those researching the families: Rook(e), Hancox, Tomlinson, Phelps, Brookfield and Turton that these are the names of the men who Mushet moved from the Forest of Dean to Sheffield to work in a steel works called Samuel Osborn/Osborn Mushet. My ancestor was Thomas Rook, who was a blacksmith and he, along with: George Hancox, George Tomlinson, William Phelps, Jim Brookfield and Louis Joseph Turton were all considered to be highly skilled and were moved to Sheffield some time during the 1870s.

The names of these 6 men are recorded in a book "The Story of the Mushets" by Fred M Osborn (1952)on page 34.

It may also be of interest to know that Samuel Osborn's is situated either on or adjoining Coleford Road in Sheffield!
