Richard Malsom / Malson marriage to Jane Brown, Blaisdon (General)

Hi,
I have been a member of the site for a while, but emigrated to Perth, Australia, last October. I have been researching the Malsons/Malsoms for quite some time. It has been great to finally start catching up on my research after a six month break now that we are settled. It has been even more of a nice surprise to see so many others on the forum discussing the same family!
The only problem I have out here of course is access to the record offices - I can no longer just nip up from Wales to Gloucester to check something out.
I am looking for a record of Richard Malson and Jane Brown who (according to the IGI) were married on 10 Feb 1733 in Blaisdon, Gloucester. The records for this date aren't available on this site (I count myself very lucky so far as this site has been invaluable in my research) and so I was wondering if anyone out there has any information?
Best wishes
Kerri

Hi Mirrim,
Was Annies Grand-father William, bap 12th March 1797?
My gggggg-grandfather was Richard Malson who married Susanna Viner of Abenhall in 1763. They had 7 children, one of whom was my ggggg-grandfather William (1774) and Richard (1768) who I think was your ancestor. Richard married Hannah Yearsley on 3/12/1792 and one of their children William was baptised in 1797.
Does this sound right to you - I have mainly concentrated on my direct line but have some information in my files.

Hi Mirrim,
I was very interested to see your reference to Annie Malsom and William Bennett as they were my grandparents. I don't remember Auntie May (as Annie May was known) as she died when I was a small girl, but I vaguely recall seeing Uncle Ivor once.

Hi Glen,
The parents of Hannah was John and Sarah (nee Marfield). John and Sarah married 8/10/1760. Hannah married Richard Malson. I believe that she had at least a sister Sarah who also married a Malson, John - who was Richards brother.
I do have the full details and an explanation (there were 2 Sarahs born in 1765) which I will email you separately later - this is just off the top of my head - I made the mistake of checking my emails just before leaving the house
:-)
Will email you this evening (Perth time).
Best wishes

Hi Glen,
Information for John and Sarah Yearsley as follows:
John Yearsley (1738) mar. Sarah Marfield/Morfild (1740) at Ruardean, 08/10/1760.
Children:
Hannah (Yeasly - sic on baptism record), bap. 15/10/01761 Ruardean
Mary, bap. 29/5/1763, Mitchelton (residence stated as Ruardean)
Sarah, bap. 10/10/1765, Ruardean
Esther, bap. 28/4/1768, Ruardean
I have Hannah in my records as she married 'my' Richard Malson as the following shows (this is from my notes so it's a bit rough! - I'm sure you'll still get the idea). I'm not 100% sure about 'my' Sarah Yearsley who married John Malson - it could be 'your' Sarah (Hannahs sister) or it could be Sarah, born to Samuel and Martha, nee Gayney. Both were baptised in 1765 so it would be unwise to rule either out until I have further evidence.

Glen, I hope this makes sense - if not let me know and I'll try to tidy it up a bit, it hasn't copied over too well.

Hi Glen,
And of course Mary Yearsley (1763) was actually baptised in Mitcheldean, not Mitchelton - will teach me to type a little slower!!

Hi Pam,
Thanks ever so much for replying. You seem to have made the same tenuous links as I have!! However, I made these links a few years ago based purely on what seemed to fit with the information online. Although I have been to the Gloucester Record Office on plenty of occasions for the latter generations, I didn't get the chance to prove this one before leaving the UK. Thanks to the FOD website (i.e. the efforts of the transcribers) I have managed to firm up the 3rd Generation Richard Malson (1738) and Susannah Viner, in particular their children - the information I had on them was sketchy beforehand. I am not convinced by the link I have to the previous generation which is why I'm looking to prove/disprove with more concrete evidence. I am even less convinced by the link back to John (1666) which was why I was so pleased when I saw that you made the same connection!! Can I ask if you have anything more concrete, for instance the marriage record from Blaisdon - the only one I have is on the IGI and I don't always find that too accurate(I'm happy with the baptisms for Mary and Richard). I am more than happy to send you all the information I have on my tree, with sources.

Unfortunately I haven't any proof of the early generations either but would be most grateful to receive what ever information you could send me, I could then cross check if I have anything in my notes that you have not already found.

I also have only managed to go back as far as Richard Malson and Susannah Viner. Although it is plausable that Richard was the son of Richard and Jane (Brown), I cannot be certain at this stage that this is correct.
My ancestor was Richard and Susannah's son also called Richard (1768-1855), he had a son William (1796-1874) who married Ann Smith, one of their sons was called Benjamin (1835-1890), who had a daughter Annie (1873-1969), who was my grandmother.
