<p>Both the Constance and Matthews lines of enquiry work perfectly and I have really been able to extend the family tree quite a long way back -as far as the mid 1700s so far.</p>

<p>Many thanks for your reply. Phoebe's(George's mother) surname was one of my problems and as she is the only phoebe I can find I think the Constance link must be a good one.I am going to follow it up right now!<br />
ChrisW has also solved the problem of George's wife for me -Margaret Matthews. <br />
I have had so much help from this website.<br />

address - Lea (the nearest named house is the Parsonage)<br />
head - George Little age 31 shoemaker born Newent<br />
wife - Phebe age 35 born Longhope<br />
daughter - Elizabeth age 1 born Lea<br />
son - George age 7 months born Lea</p>
<p>George married Phoebe Constance in 1857 registered Ross.</p>
<p>1851<br />
address - Burlows, Lea <br />
head - Richard Lane shoemaker age 65 shoemaker<br />
wife - Dorcas nee Constance age 38 born Longhope as all the Constance are<br />
children - William 10, george 8, John 6, Susan 2.<br />
brother in law - Hezikiah Constance age 28, shoemaker<br />
sister in law - Joana Constance age 32, general servant<br />
neice - Maria Constance age 21 visitor born Taynton<br />
apprentice - George Little age 20 born Newent<br />
apprentice - William James age 15</p>
<p>Not far away near Lea Pitch is<br />
Phebe Constance age 13 servant born Longhope</p>
<p>And there are other Little families in Lea including Henry Little and his family next door to George, Henry is a shoemaker too, he's born Aston.  All the Littles in Herefordshire seem to be grouped around Lea.</p>

<title>George LITTLE, born in Lea 1861</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to find information about George Little, Born in Lea in 1861. He possibly married Margaret in about 1884. They had 3 children, Elizabeth, Charles and Emily.<br />
The family lived in Weston under Penyard, Lydbrook and Cinderford. I have been unable to find a record of Margarets maiden name. Can anyone help?</p>
