The details in the Index only give the year that the Will was proved, not the full date as you will see from the entry I have just copied from the Index.

Note that 14 Feb 1896 is the date of death and matches with the information you already have.

Forest of Dean Index of Wills

I wonder if someone would be good enough to check this for me?

Barbara Nash: died 14.02.1896 in Gorsley, nr Newent. (I have her death card with lock of hair giving date) so this is correct.

Barbara Nash: buried Ross-on-Wye 19.02.1896 by S.R.Cambie, Vicar of Gorsley - OK

Barbara Nash: Will proved 14.02.1896 (Forest of Dean Index of Wills, page 39) - Could a Will really be proved on the day of death?

I am in Australia, so if you can help, I't really appreciate it.
