Joseph Meek c1771 wife Hannah.
All I know is they had a son Richard c1807 who married Jane Simmonds. Richard and Jane had a daughter Emma 1845 who married Tom Watts Haddock.
I am up to date with the Haddock branch of my tree.

Harry

The deaths you have shown refer to Joseph Meek 1782 & Hannah Cooke 1792 and their son James Meek baptised 16 Mar 1828. Not Joseph Meek & Hannah Baldwin as per the heading shown here.

I have a Hannah Cooke who married George Meek in 1858 in Ross on Wye, Is there a connection with your Cooke/Meek? This was Hannah's 3rd marriage, she was about 59. She married William Cooke in 1844 in Weston under Penyard.

Firstly the Joseph Meek who married Hannah Cooke didn't die until 1866 and secondly, Hannah would have had the surname Meek in 1858. Hannah Cooke baptised 18 Mar 1792 was the daughter of William Cooke & Elizabeth, she married Joseph Meek 13th May 1809.

Joseph and Hannah MEEK - children.

by Brian Meek @, Tuesday, August 25, 2009, 17:04 (5371 days ago) @ Brian Meek

Sorry all.

Slight mistake in my previous email, Hannah Baldwins date of birth, it should read 1779.

The Joseph Meek who married Hannah Baldwin is my g x 4 grandfather and he was born Weston under Penyard. Hannah Baldwin was born in Ruardean. Throughout all the birth certificates of the children Joseph is described as a Labourer.

I cannot find any ties between this family and the following

Joseph Meek who married Hannah Cook was born in Ruardean 1782 and Hannah Cook 1792 was born in the Lea and they married in 1809 at Ruardean.
Their children were,

Cornelius b 1810
William b 1811
Hannah b 1812
Joseph b 1814
Elizabeth b 1816
Richard b 1819
Thomas b 1821
Aaron b 1823
Ann b 1925
John b 1826
James b 1828
Solomon b 1829

In all birth certificates of the children this Joseph is described as a collier/coal miner.
