Lydbrook Photos October 2009 (Photo Gallery)

by admin ⌂, Forest of Dean, Friday, October 09, 2009, 07:11 (5340 days ago)

These two photos only taken a few days ago were sent to us by Michael Gwilliam.

I am sure you will all enjoy looking at them and they will give people like myself who do not visit the Forest very often the opportunity to view the places where our ancestors once lived.

Enjoy

  • Taken from from by the church. This one is of central Lydbrook. The white building of which we can only see the top floor is the Jovial Collier's Public House. To the left of that is a Garage which is now up for sale. The large red brick building in the centre is the School. The houses top left are on Cammomile Green.

  • This photo is taken from the same spot and is to the right of the other one. The large building to the right of the playing field is the Methodist Chapel. Above that (the house with a red brick lean-to on the left) is the Old Police Station. The 3 storey red brick building on the left used to be the home of E J Flewelling and Son, Undertakers.
