By the 1891 census thomas is living with the jenkins I.e his mothers family and was brought up by them. Benjamin had left for australia and died an old man there. I have tried eveything I cqn think of I, e different spellings, re marriage, death on ship, inquest everything. Any help greatfully received

As Benjamin IMM married Sarah JENKINS - 17 August 1885

and

Thomas James IMM was christened - 1 November 1885

? Did Benjamin go off to Australia quite soon afterwards

and did

Sarah re-marry? and/or start a new life

Looking at the witnesses to Thomas James IMM's marriage - 9 October 1915

Daisy May SYMONDS - is on the 1911 census with parents Otto SYMONDS and Kate

It has always been said she died in 1887. I have looked at remarriage band in 1891 census but she seems to vanish. I have been looking for her over 10 years, it so exhausting and annoying when you hit a dead end

JENKINS Sarah 82 Chepstow 11a 3

As Sarah was now an IMM - the Sarah JENKINS death age 82 doesn't seem to be the correct one.

?

Do you know now Benjamin IMM went to Australia.

On Ancestry: can't read full information

Benjamin IMM
Electoral Year: 1930

(not sure why there are two of these for the same year, unless Benjamin has a son?)

Oh and benjamin died in sydney in 1936 , he was run down by a motor car. Also thomas his son who it seems he never saw from theage of 2 was always known as benny. I have yet to find if benjamin had a will but I dont think so

There have the odd occasions on this forum, when a mother who had married - left the baby with her parents - re-married - or just lived with a new 'husband' - and had another family, if I remember correctly - this second family wasn't in the same area. Although in your case, the death is in the Family Bible 1887. (Month ????)

Hey - yes have explored that option too - can find no remarriages for Sarah and she is not on the 1891, 1901 or 1911 census.

The australian people are Henry imm (benjamins brothers) children children. Benjamin never remarried and lived alone - i have his death cert

i wonder if he bunked her off - have even thought perhaps she went with him and died at sea !!
