I should have added

George Lewis was a butcher by trade

And in the earlier censuses was residing in Linton he and his wife Mary ann had amongst their children and William George baptised 21/12/1833 Goodrich

Hi Phil ,
I have had a quick look at this and there appears to be no George Lewis baptized circa 1811 at Goodrich .
However there is a George s/o John & Elizabeth Lewis baptized at Ross on Wye in 1811 - Ross is about 5 miles from Goodrich and it is where George married his 2nd wife ANN GREEN in 1848 . Usually a couple married in either the bride's birth Parish or if that was not possible for whatever reason , the couple would marry at the groom's .
I don't know if this is of any use to you but I will look at this further and get back to you if I find anything ,
Regards

P.S. you could send for a copy of his 2nd marriage certificate from the General Registry Office - he married final quarter 1848 Ross - as that will name his father and his father's occupation

Hi ,

So what I've come up with is
GEORGE LEWIS b1806 d1867 ( burial 30th Dec 1867 aged 61 yrs " of Crocker's Ash " )
s/o CATHERINE & WILLIAM

Tracing his children , I found one of his daughters , CATHERINE ( b1845 d/o George & 1st wife MARY ANN COLEMAN ) living with her aunt ANN BATHURST in Penygraig , Marstow , Herefordshire on the 1861 census .

Ann's maiden name was WEAL/WEALE and she was the wife of WM LAWRENCE BATHURST , they were married at St Briavels on 3rd April 1841 - with George Lewis one of the witnesses .

Ann was the d/o STEPHEN & CATHERINE WEAL bpt 26th Nov 1811 at Goodrich - there were 3 children altogether , Ann , Stephen ( bpt 5th June 1814 Goodrich burial 10th Nov 1814 Goodrich ) & Elizabeth ( bpt 25th June 1819 Goodrich ) .

Stephen Weal married widow CATHERINE LEWIS on 14th Feb 1811 at Goodrich .
Stephen was buried on 8th August 1843 at Goodrich and Catherine ( Wheal ) on 23rd Sept 1854 .

There is the burial of WILLIAM LEWIS on 6th may 1809 at Goodrich , whom I believe is Catherine's 1st husband and I also found the marriage of

WILLIAM LEWIS & CATHERINE JOHNSON on 19th Nov 1804 at St Briavels

The dates all seem to fit so I hope this helps
