which I suspect means they are at Coal Pit Hill , a very small hamlet between Staunton and Christchurch / Berry Hill

"AMY WINTLE married to THOMAS TEAGUE in Mitchedean in 1818 She was the daughter of ANTHONY WINTLE(1757-1836) and SARAH WORGAN. She was born in 1798.
Anthony's father WILLIAM WINTLE Carterspiece 1727-1789 William's father GEORGE WINTLE Joyford 1688-1732 Thomas & Amy's children ELIZABETH TEAGUE baptised 17th February 1820 at Berry Hill. She married JAMES HAWKINS (coal miner) in Dec Quarter 1844.
In 1881 census living at Top Lonk West Dean both aged 60. Amy was also living with them.
ANNE TEAGUE baptised 18th July 1827 at Berry Hill. I know nothing about her.
GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER GEORGE TEAGUE baptised 9th March 1824 died 27th October 1860 aged 37 years married HARRIET ASTON (baptised 1825 died 19th March 1914, her Fathers nameis JOHN ASTON) on 1st June 1846 at the Church of Christ Church, Berry Hill. They are buried together with their son James at Christ Church Children JAMES TEAGUE born 1847 died 8th April 1865 aged 18 years

Given the Wintle / Teague connection its quite possible she is more than a family friend, although at the time perhaps no one realised she "was" a distant cousin - Its a small world after all :-)

Thank you so much for your help.
I have been trying to find out about our english relatives
since I was a boy. I have an old postcard of the Clock tower in
coleford, a pocketwatch that belonged to Thomas Hawkins,
(with the original bill of sale!)
and grew up listening to stories ...My GGGGrandfather was Thomas Hawkins.
My GGGrandfather was Marcus Hawkins (typo Morkins)
All I knew is they were coal miners from Coleford...Now look how far we have come!
Your information brought a tear to my eye! I wish my Grandfather was
still around for me to share the info with.
I hope to visit one day, I can't wait to see the Forest, and all the places
I have read about.Maybe I'll catch the Coleford Festival!
Any Ideas on which way to go to find James Hawkins Parents?

I had hoped that James would show with a family member in 1841 , alas he appears to be living alone....
We do have Church records , that may resolve this , I'll check a few other sources. and you may be lucky, another "helper" may read this and post the answer...
