There are a number of others, including the problems with his wife "wandering abroad" in Cinderford, debts, and dissolving his business partnership of Watkins & Bowdler at Central Garage Newnham. Later in life, when he moved to Devon, there are other articles - debt (again), the sad deaths of two children, and, in 1945, his divorce.
