SO in 1939 just 3 years after the double wedding, father Sidney is a Licensed Victualler nearby at.... the Swan Hotel, well there's a "surprise" ... !
Methinks like many newspaper stories there's more to it than just the story... was he too busy running his pub and preparing the reception "spread" to attend the ceremony ?.

Whoever she is I can't help thinking she's a relative. So there IS a place near Littledean called Sutton. Could she be Sidney's first wife Ellen, assuming of course Ellen died young and he remarried - no evidence at all yet altho her age seems right! ?. A little frustrating that the newspaper report only names "Mrs Bowdler" when full names are given to everyone else.

Re "Sutton", this PR confirms its a Littledean place afer all, I suspect this is the same Farm recorded as Barnham earlier, MUST check the maps. Unsure how this PR fits tho...
