Charles Gordon PHILLIPS 1908 - 1991 Eton (General)

by slowhands @, proud of his ancient Dean Forest roots, Monday, October 08, 2012, 07:42 (4424 days ago) @ Judy Phillips

so I checked my records and found a letter that my father received in 1995 from a Solicitor who was tracing living relatives of Prof Charles Gordon PHILLIPS who died in 1991, in the letter it shows 4 generations of the PHLLIPS family (which was a good start for me)

Prof. (Charles) Gordon Phillips (1908-91) was born at Eton and educated privately,
continuing his studies at Nottingham University. He was assistant organist at St. John's,
Smith Square and subsequently organist and director of music at All Saints, Knightsbridge.
As organist of All Hallows-by-the-Tower in London he gave more than 3,200 lunchtime recital
and was also senior professor of organ and harpsichord at the London College of Music.
