Strides/Slads (General)

Hi there,

If you search Little London, Gloucestershire, on Streetmap the Level 1 zoom will allow you to see Rough Lease. My best guess is that the COCKAYNE family lived in a cottage around the Chapel Lane area (also marked on Level 1 zoom). Of course, since the cottages were not generally named in the 1861 Census, it is impossible to say which one but there are plenty marked on the 1884 map and it now seems likely it was one of these. The extent of The Slad (or Slade) in 1861 I have no means of knowing but it could have extended more south than Streetmap would imply.
