Anne JOYNES born 1846 (General)
Thanks again for the Leeds tip and the marriage. I can see how JOYNES could become JOYENS. This was extremely useful.
As Annie SMITHSON, I have traced her through the 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 census, and going on a presumption that she stayed in Leeds for the rest of her life, I think she died in Leeds in 1922 (GRO 1922 Q1 Leeds v9b p561) aged 75 = 1847 birth, and Edwin SMITHSON died in 1926 (GRO 1926 Leeds v9b p362) aged 79 = 1847.
Once again this website has come to my rescue.
The only thing left to do is get a copy of her birth certificate for the possible identity of her father (or not!) ....one day.
