Elizabeth YOUNG, born 1843 Coleford (General)

I am researching the YOUNG family. My particular interest is in Elizabeth Young (born 1843) daughter of John Young and Jane (nee Haynes).

Elizabeth had an older brother George (born 1839) and a sister, Ashfield, (born around 1844).

The 1851 census (West Dean) shows John Haynes and Elizabeth (Haynes?) also living with the Young Family, presumably Jane's parents.

Elizabeth was working as a servant in 1861 (CENSUS info) at the Mushett household in Coleford.

In 1863 she had an illegitimate son, Thomas. Family tradition is that he was conceived while she was working at Lord Raglan's house and that she was paid to 'keep quiet'. This doesn't seem likely to me as she had the boy christened in Raglan (father not known).

Elizabeth them married Edwin Capper in 1865. Her son Thomas then became a Capper, but later when he married he changed his surname back to Young.

I am interested in:

1. Tracing the Young family back from John Young

2. Finding out the truth behind the illegitimate Thomas. So it would help to find out where Elizabeth Young was in late 1862 / early 1863. (Thomas was born 12th December 1863).
