Last little scrap of info. I forgot that I was going to put this in just before I accidentally posted the 1st message:

About James Rudge who John Morgan is living with in the 1841 census--I wonder if there is any tie to John Rudge Morgan who married Sarah Morgan, 24 Aug 1789 in Garway? I have no more info on any of these people.

By the way, do you know how old the Mary Morgan who married the Howe is? My Mary Prosser Morgan disappeared after the 1841 census. She doesn't seem to be buried in Garway, though she is shown at Little Garway Farm in the 1841 census. Mary was born 20 June 1790 at Garway to William Prosser and Elizabeth Meredith, who md. 4 Apr 1785 in Garway. So far, William is a dead-end Prosser.

You might be interested in the Prosser genealogy shared at the following site. It doesn't seem to connect to my line, but might contain some clues. It also contains (suprise) another Prosser-Morgan marriage!

In that message, "mike john" is probably right, at least concerning my James Cowles Morgan. James lived in Garway but he was born in Skenfrith, as was his father, it seems.
