Well, I didn't think I'd have a reply quite so quickly! You are both obviously related albeit one by marriage. Graham, you can have the prayer book. It isn't probably as bad as I described "falling apart", although the back cover is off and the front cover is loose, as well as a couple of the first pages, the rest is in one piece so perhaps I did describe it accurately. Looking through it again, I see that Mrs J certainly wanted it known that she was the owner of the book because she has written her name and address on the inside cover along with three more and two names on the inside back cover. Maybe this is because prayer books were "valuable" so she wanted to make sure everyone knew it belonged to her!

Maurice, you are more interested in Alice. You can have the bible if you would like it. Actually, I found another little prayer book with Alice's name and address in, unfortunately the hard covers are missing but the front and back pages carry Alice's name and address, she called herself A.A. Symonds on the back.
