Richard & Anne James and their Son Irah James 1816 Bream (General)
Richard James was a witness at the wedding of my ancestor Mary Kear in 1797 at Newland. If his wife Anne was born a Kear I am assuming that she and Mary were related. Mary has been assumed by some researchers to be the one baptised in 1776 at Newland to William and Eleanor of Bream, and then it is further assumed that this is the William and Eleanor who apparently married around 1748 in Bream. However I can find no evidence of this marriage and this would mean Mary was born very late in Eleanor's life. I am not convinced as yet that these assumptions are correct.
Wondering if anyone knows the origin of Anne Kear James so I can investigate the possible family connection, and establish the truth via a different route!
Thanks
Samantha
