Thank you for your interesting leter. I will be 86 on 12th April and my grandson has me on the net and I am enjoying it very much. My mother was born in Gloucestershire in 1890 her name was Elizabeth Simmonds,her brother was Alf Simmonds who played cricket for Ruardean. I went to Ruardean in 2001 and saw the house where they wer born. We visited Dulcie Brain and still correspond with her. I have got quite a lot of information on this site with slowhands and am surprised that you live in Australia. I came to Australia in 1930 and now live in Canberra.My name is Iris Schofield. My grandparent and uncles all worked in the mines and suffered from lung problems. Hope I have not bored you, sincerely Iris
