Thomas HAWKINS 1857 Old Engine / Lydbrook - prior thread

I'm trying to put myself back 150 years, with the values at that time !

If the children were brought up after Amy's death "protected" from the truth by referring to the grand parents as uncle/aunt ( as before her death) then they probably need to carry this on in 1871 when they were older.

Its a hunch / theory :-)

A birth cert for Thomas would help - maybe he was registered with another surname ?
