Thanks for the additional explanation to your question.

Many times I have encouraged people to keep an open mind as getting 100% proof is often difficult. So failing that, or until more evidence comes along, we are left with a " most likely" or " balance of probability" conclusion.

Right now thats where we seem to be, based on the sources available, BT's, Parish records, Census data etc.

2 females with very similar names of similar age, and born in the same hamlet - possible - if they were say Mary JONES or Elizabeth DAVIS/DAVIES then I would be concerned at leaping to the conclusion.

Jim A has replied in a prior thread http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=26962 setting out his view / research, and equally in other threads Jim A is happy to accept new evidence /records or interpretations that cause him to "rewrite" his branches / tree.

So in conclusion I would say that the best fit ( with current evidence / sources) is a single Hester/Esther DUBERLEY from Ruardean born 1789, daughter of John and Betty HARRIS

Year: 1789
Month: Jan
Day: 25
Parents_Surname: DUBBERLEY
Child_Forenames: Esther
Fathers_Forenames: John
Mothers_Forenames: Betty
Mothers_Surname:
Residence:
Occupation:
Officiating_Minister: J H BEESTON - minister
Event: Baptism
Memoranda:
Notes: DUBBERLY in BT
Register_Reference: P275 IN 1/6
Page_Number: 10
Parish_Chapel: Ruardean

However if family bibles / history exist and this contradicts the "best fit" then I'm sure it would be welcomed, and a balanced view taken of all sources.

I hope this helps

S
