Monmouth and Monmouthshire (General)

it states Monmouth
Very often people refer to the County of Monmouthshire just as Monmouth and miss the shire part out.
Similar to Gloucester and Gloucestershire. Many people for instance have posted messages on this forum and mentioned Gloucester Archives when in fact the correct name is Gloucestershire Archives.
There are also probably hundreds of records quoted on this forum as being in Monmouth when what is meant is Monmouthshire.
