The tree system on genesreunited.co.uk is good for efficient use of space, and you can print it out at various sizes. Mine is legible at about 420 names on I think 24 sheets of A4, but I wouldn't call it beautiful. Come bad weather and loads of patience, I might try reproducing it by hand on the back of wall lining paper using a medium that doesn't run. Getting a decent calligrapher to do something similar could be a fairly inexpensive way of customising a good-looking tree as well as a novel way of decorating a wall.
