There are many (some quite 'large') discrepancies, both in age and occupation and even surname changes in my family trees.... one example

I have my Grandmother's birth certificate - born 3 February 1869 and her Marriage Certificate - 29 March 1886 - where she gives her age as 19, when in fact she had just turn 17. On the 1891/1901/1911 Census her age is 24/34/44 c1867, and told my mother her Father-in-law was a Land Measurer, in fact he was a labourer on the land. Her husband's age was also two years older than his date of birth.
