you mention Archie enlisted at Bristol on 11th November 1914 (wow there's a date..) Bristol was the Gloster Regiment's main HQ depot.

I've tried searching for him in the old newspapers, as often casualties got mentioned. However the only "hit" I've found so far is this one, note the date is the same week as yours. I wonder if he's named in the article along with others from his area, hopefully someone with a BNA subscription can please reproduce it in full ?
