I suppose I just thought his death must have been soon after the war ended, as it would been natural for a child of Toms age (he was 4 when the war ended) to have had some memory of his father in the event his father had returned from the war & lived locally. But he had no memory of his father. Nor was he told, I think, who his father was. I think he may have been looked after by his paternal aunt (Isobel Charlotte) & then moved in with her when she married
I would be really pleased if it could be established when he died & why he seems to have had little contact with his only son.
