1817 . Jan. 9 . John Morse Clk B. A. was instituted by ( or for the bishop of Gloucester to the rectory & of Huntley , parish church G. D. R. 3346 , p. 150 . vacant by the resignation of William Beale , Clk . on the presentation of Martha Morse , Widow , John Morse of newent , yeoman , Martha his wife , late Martha Morse spinster , and Hannah Holley of pated atonener . Know all Men by these Presents , as we William Boat of Newent in the County of Gloucester Yeoman and John Morse of the same place Moring are held and firmly bound unto William Lord Bishop of Gloventerin the sum of Five hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great - Britain , to be paid to the said Lord Bishop -- --- or his certain Attorney , Executors , Administrators , Succeffors or Asigns : To which Payment well and truly to be made , We bind ourselves and every of us , jointly and severally , for and in the Whole , our Heirs , Executors and Adminitrators and every of them , firmly by these Presents . Sealed with our Seal in the 18th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of GOD , King of Great - Britain , France and Ireland , Defender of the Faith , and to forth , and in the Year of our Lord , One Thouand Seven Hundred and twenty Eight . in Sealed and Delivered be presence of The Condition of this Obligation is such , That , if hereafter there shall not appear any lawful Lett or Impediment , by reason of any Pre - Contract , Confanguinity , Affinity , or any other just Caufe whatsoever , but that the above - bounden William Brak and Ann Griffith of the parish of Newent aforesaid in the Diocese of Gloventer Widow may lawfully solemnize Marriage together , and also if there be not at this present Time any Action , Suit , Plaint , Quarrel , Demand or Controverly moved or depending before any Judge Ecclesiastical , or Temporal , for or concerning any such lawful Impediment between the said Parties . And further , if the said Parties last above namedhave obtained the express Consent of their respective Parents , Guardians or Governors unto the said Marriage , and shall publickly celebrate the said Marriage in the Parish Church of Newent aforesaid and not there between the Hours of Eight and Twelve in the Forenoon . And laftly , if the above - bounden William Boale , and John Morse , do and shall fave harmless and keep indemnifyed the above - named Reverend Father , his Chancellor , Surrogates , Register , and all other his Officers , for and concerning the Premises , That then this present Obligation to be void , or else to standard be in full Force and Virtue .
