Joseph WATKINS my great-grandfather (brother to Emma) who as far as I know
always lived in the Forest but married at Clifton Bristol in 1890 to Elizabeth MILLS.
Joseph and Elizabeth after their marriage lived the rest of their lives in the
Forest.
Emma WATKINS and William PEDRICK were witnesses to the marriage and Joseph's
father was given as John WATKINS deceased. John was his grandfathers name and
probably was used for convenience.
How did Joseph a coal miner from Ruardean come about marrying a girl from
Bristol?
