Thank you so much for such a quick response and so much information. I was obviously a few years out on their marriage. That sets a whole new light on my tree. I was looking for John Hicks born about 1819 father William and as I thought mother Mercy. Now seeing the 1841 census you posted, that there is a John in the family born about that time. Could it be that Mercy was William's second wife, was John born before they married, or could he be another relative?
