Hi MPG,
any indications as to Grandad's (Jonathan?) employment ? Could he have been a railway/engineering Inspector given his Irish (navvy?) background, perhaps he's been involved in building the Indian Railway network given his Indian wife ?.

Not proof I know but Ancestry suggest this is MAY be the same Ivy on the 1911 UK Census !!, hence my modified question to Lorrie above wrt Ivy's time in NZ.
