2 x Giles Griffiths - common ancestry (General)

After looking on the IGI and with help from Nolene and her Ruardean Parish Records Carol and I have put together the following scenario for both the Giles Griffiths. It looks as though both Giles have a grandfather in common as I think their fathers were brothers. Following the trail leads us possibly to a John GRIFIT and Dorothy who married sometime before 1679.

It looks as though the two Giles Griffiths born about the same time are born to two brothers John Griffiths and Thomas Griffiths. Their parents were John Griffiths and Sarah Jones.

So where does the name Giles Griffiths come from??.
