Again many thanks. After a careful re-read I think it really looks that Ann in the 1841 Census was John's wife and that there was a ten years disparity between their ages. I concur with your argument on names. I have noticed before baby girls baptised with quite fancy names revert to Ann in later censuses etc.I even have a theory that sisters sometimes swapped them.
Thank you again for all the leads you have given me here. Gaps in records when you get back to the 18th century always lead to areas of doubts and speculations. All my strands seem to lead to Meeks and Jordans.
