Thank you once again. I guess the what keeps coming to mind is why Eliza Preddy (1868) and David John Stockam (1863) birthdates don't coincide with the birthdates on their grave stones here in the states (1870 and 1866). I think I have the right families but it puts a little doubt in my mind. Why wouldn't the dates be the same? I know from my mother that her grandfather David John Stockam married an Eliza Preddy in England and then came to America. I was always told they had eloped. Should I keep looking for other possibilities or accept the information I have as proof? How do I account for the variances in dates?
