GEORGE JONES born about 1824 in Whitecroft (General)

I am trying to trace my husbands great grandfather who was born in Whitecroft in the FOD.
He appears on the 1881 census age 60 married (wife 27yrs) living in South Shields County Durham. He has 3 children he states he was born in Whitecroft and his occupation is a coal trimmer. I cannot find any marriage certificate for him and Frances Tombling she lived in Seaham so I cannot find the name of his father

I have looked on the births search but do not know what churches were in Whitecroft at that time. I have a copy of his death certificate and he died on the 27th March 1891 it states his age as 67yrs the informant was his daughter. On the 1891 census his wife is left with 6 children. He would have came up North to find work in the many pits.

I am coming to Gloucester next week and we will be visiting Whitecroft to see where he was born I am also going to the Gloucestershire Archives. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated
