Hi Slowhands & Paul, thanks for confirming the 1841 Census, my cd scans weren't too clear. Please can you comment on the following, thanks.

1. As per my suggestion above, I realise it's a very difficult search but is there any point in trying to find eldest brothers James born Hewelsfield c1824 and Daniel born Hewelsfield c1828 in the 1841 Census, I can't help think they'll be together and I wonder if this will lead us to find George if indeed he is their brother ??

I've searched this site's Marriage PRs for both James and Daniel, father James, but no luck thus far; I wonder if they've moved away from the area and perhaps taken George too ?

I guess it's almost impossible given their names but one lives in hope ??

From this site's 1841 Census data, which I'm still struggling to piece into households, could these be them ?, if so where:

JONES Daniel 10 HEWELSFIELD 3 365/7 5 (so born abt 1831-??)
JONES James 17 WOOLASTON COMMON 3A 369/6 22

(However there's also this older James, I think(?) in the same household (wrt the numbers ?)
JONES James 40 WOOLASTON COMMON 3A 369/6 22

Assuming that common folio numbers do indicate a household ?, then the rather more searcher-friendly youngest member or "our" James & Mary Jones household is elsewehere:
JONES Vencention (fem) 1 WOOLASTON 3A 369/6 6
(This name appears similar to my 1841 Census image which was a very poor one).
So it looks like the above mentioned James aged 17 is either a different family, or ours but maybe lodging with his employer ?. Difficult !

2. What, if any, are your thoughts re which Church or Chapel George b1824 might have been Baptised at ?. I suspect you already know what the choice was in the area at that time, whereas I'd have to research the local history (not my patch at all) and then still only make a lessthaneducated guess.

I'm thinking about Angela's visit to the area this weekend.

Thanks in hopeful anticipation, Jeff.
(Still impressed you found John etc !)
