By way of recap, as this has come up a few times in different contexts on this forum, probably the best source for Sterry/Sterrey info in the world is, as Jefff has mentioned, www.sterryworldwide.com. Basically there are three strands of Sterry/Sterrey from the Forest: the Ruardean line (the earliest Sterrys traced back anywhere by documentary proof), the Longhope Sterrys/Sterreys (such as George under discussion here) who are also documented back a long way, and the Minsterworth Sterrys/Sterreys (my lot) who are traced back by parish registers to 1794 but have recently been linked to the Longhope line by DNA and several of whom still inhabit the Lydney neighbourhood.
