Hi to one Geoff from another, welcome to the forum and website.
In case you've not seen it, there is an excellent book about the Hill and it's inhabitants which may interest you; "Highest Point of Dean" published in 1985 by keen local historian Maurice V Bent. That said there's only a brief mention of the Hales, Jim (1900-1981) and his parents, but there may be other info regarding Hain Villa and the area.
I don't know if the website contact page is still being monitored by it's owner Glyn Hale, but this extensive Hale website may possibly help in your researches, altho I guess you've probably already seen it.
