So why does GlosBMD show his mother's maiden name as Nurthen ?
Is this a real surname or an error ?
Is it relevant that her father is not named on the record ?.

Searching FreeBMD for all records with surname Nurthen, shows it is indeed a valid one albeit unusual.

Cannot find any earlier records for Hannah, but revisiting FamilySearch;

Finally for now, searching this forum for "Kersey Newent" gave this prior post, which includes a mention of a Mark NURTHEN Kersey.. which is no surprise as this site's PR database includes over 100 Nuthern PRs, all in Newent or that area...

Curiouser and curiouser ?????
