I think the Newent family is correct, some further checking in the Newent Parish records is encouraging.
Can I go further and check for 1871 census records for John Watkins B1818 in Newent and his wife Mary B1806 in Somerset particularly in the Newent or Tidenham areas?
I am particularily looking for any further Somerset birthplace clues for Mary.
