Hamblin and Aston (General)
Hi Sue
Not sure if this helps in anyway, but I have an Elizabeth Aston b c 1780 in my tree. She married William Frowen at Newland in 1799. Interestingly one of the witnesses was a William Ward. Not sure who this is, a relative or a church official or just a serial wedding witness!!:) after all it is 16 yrs before your marriage that he witnessed!
I haven't done any other research on Elizabeth as yet, but know that she is listed as Betty in the Almshouses at Newland in 1851. I haven't been able to find a baptism for her except for a 'Betty' Aston baptised at Newland in 1780, to Richard and Sarah, but can't see any other siblings listed on the IGI.
This one is also in Parish records on this site along with 3 others
1775 ASTON Betty Baptism Newland to Philip and Ann -base child
1780 ASTON Betty Baptism Newland to Rich and Sarah
1781 ASTON Betty Baptism Newland to Rich and Susannah
1785 ASTON Betty Baptism Newland to Bejamin and Eleanor
Sorry a bit vague I know, but was just interested to see the same witness!
